Use Send to create a temporary download link for your files. You can share that link by email or another messaging service.
Before you start
Have the files available on your device and keep the originals until the recipient has downloaded and opened their copies.
Check the size and file-count limits shown in Send. See Send plan limits for the monthly allowance.
If you need to keep a folder's structure, create a ZIP archive and check its contents before adding it. See file types and archives.
Create a download link
Open Send in your browser.
Select Add files and choose the files. Check their names and combined size.
Select Create link. If you have a paid plan, sign in to its account. If Send asks you to verify your email, enter it in Your email, select Verify email, and follow the code instructions.
To protect the transfer, enter a password in the optional Password field before creating the link. Keep it available to share with the recipient.
Select Create link to start. Keep the browser open while Send uploads and prepares the files.
When the transfer is ready, check Expiration date and select Copy link.
The form also offers Send email. The steps here use Create link, so you can choose where to send the completed link.
Share the link by email or message
Paste the complete link into your message. In an email, include the link in the body rather than attaching the original files.
Tell the recipient which files to expect and when the link expires.
If you set a transfer password, share it through a separate private channel. Do not share your account password or Store passphrase.
A recipient can forward the link. Anyone who has the full link and any required transfer password may be able to download the files while the transfer is available.
Download files from a link you received
Open the complete link from the sender. You do not need to create a Hivenet account.
If the page asks for a password, enter the transfer password from the sender and select Open files.
Check the file list and Expiration date. Choose the files you need, or use Select all.
Select the download button. Its label may show the number of selected files.
Keep the browser open until the download finishes. Find the saved files on your device and open them. If you received an archive, extract it and check that the expected files are present.
Before relying on the transfer, check that the saved copy opens and contains the files you expected. A link on the sender's screen does not confirm that the recipient has downloaded the files.
The link is available for seven days. Check the expiration date shown for the transfer. After the link expires, use a saved original to create a new transfer if needed. Expiration does not erase copies already downloaded by a recipient. See Send link expiration.
If a step fails
Follow Send upload, verification, and download troubleshooting. Keep the originals and any completed link.
