If the upload fails

Check for these issues:

The file is too large

  • The maximum total size per transfer is 4 GB, even if you’re uploading multiple files.

  • If you exceed this limit, you’ll see an error before the upload starts.

Unstable or weak connection

  • A poor network (especially on mobile) can interrupt uploads.

  • If your browser crashes, your laptop sleeps, or your phone locks mid-upload, the transfer may stop completely.

Background browser tab

  • On mobile devices, switching apps or locking your screen can pause or cancel uploads.

  • For large files, keep your browser open and active until the upload finishes.

Browser privacy settings

  • JavaScript and cookies need to be enabled.

  • Some browser extensions (like ad blockers or privacy plugins) can block uploads.

If the download fails

Check for these common causes:

The link expired

  • All transfers expire after 7 days.

  • Once expired, the link won’t work. Ask the sender to upload the file again.

Password required

  • If the file was protected with a password, you’ll need it to download.

  • Hivenet does not store or recover passwords—ask the sender directly.

Network or antivirus filter

  • Some corporate firewalls or antivirus software may block the download.

  • Try a different network, browser, or temporarily adjust your security settings.

Still need help?

  • Try a different browser.

  • Restart the upload or download.

  • Contact Hivenet Support and include a screenshot or any error message.
