Prerequisites

📘 Instructions

Setting up Hivenet:

  1. Launch Hivenet: After installing the Hivenet app, open the application. You will see ‘Hivenet’ in your Finder under “Locations”.

  2. Using Hivenet: It functions like any regular file or folder in macOS. The key difference? Anything you add to Hivenet is securely uploaded to our distributed cloud and synced across your devices.

  3. Syncing files: Keep Hivenet running in the background for optimal syncing. It ensures your files are always up-to-date across all connected devices.

Known limitations:

  • Offline and online file toggling: We do not currently support toggling files between offline and online-only modes. However, this feature is on our roadmap and will be available soon.

  • Large folders loading time: Folders containing thousands of files might take several minutes to load. We’re actively working on enhancing this to be near-instant.

  • Trash functionality: Sometimes, moving many files or folders to the trash may work differently than expected. We are diligently improving this feature. For now, we're sorry for any trouble.

  • Manual refresh required: Files or folders added or altered from another device will not automatically refresh. To update, right-click on the file or folder and select Refresh Folder beside the Hivenet icon.

We are constantly striving to enhance your experience with Hivenet on macOS. Your feedback and patience are greatly appreciated as we roll out new features and improvements. Stay tuned for exciting updates!
