Send stores encrypted file pieces in Hivenet's storage network. It also processes information needed to provide the service. The Hivenet Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled.
What information is used
This can include transfer details, file counts and sizes, technical logs, and product-use events. Account, billing, and support records may also apply. Send uses product analytics; Hivenet does not send file contents, photo contents, or encryption passphrases to PostHog as event data.
If you need a specific storage location
Before uploading, identify the country or region your files must stay in.
Ask Hivenet Support whether Send meets that requirement. Say whether you will use the website or a desktop app.
Keep the answer with your organization's sharing requirements. Wait for confirmation before sending files that have a location restriction.
Encryption does not establish a storage location. A region described for Compute, S3, or analytics does not establish where Send file pieces are stored. Ask about the file pieces and related personal data separately.
How long information is kept
The Send expiry and finding an existing copy guide explains when a link stops providing access. Expiry does not establish one physical-deletion deadline for all related data or remove a recipient's downloaded copy.
Retention depends on the data and its purpose. Billing, support, security, and legal records can have different retention periods. See the Privacy Policy's retention section.
Privacy choices and requests
The Privacy Policy explains the controls that apply to website and product analytics. Website cookie choices should not be treated as a control for every app.
For a privacy request or a question about personal data, contact [email protected]. State what you need and which service you used. Hivenet may ask you to verify your identity. Keep the response for your records.
