Understand your privacy choices with Hivenet

Review the information involved in your use of Hivenet and find the right route for a privacy question or request.

Privacy concerns what personal information a service collects, why it uses it, who it shares it with and how long it keeps it. Encryption protects content, but Hivenet also needs information to operate accounts, provide support and manage the service.

Review the information involved

The Privacy Policy covers account, billing, usage, device, analytics and support information as well as data handled by each product. Information you choose to include in a support message or attachment is part of that review.

  1. Choose one file, screenshot or support attachment and identify the personal information it contains.

  2. Decide which information the recipient or support request needs. Prepare a separate copy with unrelated details removed when appropriate; keep the original.

  3. Record any unanswered question about access, location, sharing or retention. Check the relevant policy section or service agreement before relying on the setup.

Choose a control or request route

  • Website cookies: Open Privacy options and select Manage cookies to review your website choices. The published policy separates these choices from analytics in Hivenet apps; changing website cookies does not establish an app-wide preference.

  • Marketing emails: Use the unsubscribe link in the message. Account, billing, security and other service messages are handled separately.

  • Personal-data requests: Contact [email protected] to ask about access, correction, a portable copy, deletion or another privacy right. Hivenet Support can also route the request. Say which product and information your request concerns, and keep credentials out of the message.

The rights available depend on where you live and the processing involved. Hivenet may need to verify your identity or keep some information for a lawful reason. The policy also lists the Data Protection Officer's contact details.

Review retention and inactivity notices

Hivenet uses different retention rules for different data. Section 9 of the Privacy Policy describes a dormant-account process for eligible free Store and Send accounts after 12 consecutive months without qualifying activity. It includes advance notice, suspension and a 30-day window to ask Support for restoration. Active paid subscriptions and unused paid credits are excluded.

If you receive an inactivity notice, record its suspension and deletion dates and follow its instructions to keep the account active. Ask Support promptly if the account has already been suspended. The restoration window in that policy concerns inactivity suspension; deletion of individual files, expired transfers and voluntary account closure have their own rules.

If you want to close the account yourself, first keep usable copies of files you need and check what will happen to any subscriptions. Ask Hivenet Support to explain any unclear effects before confirming. A request to delete personal data and closing an account can have different consequences.

Record your choice

Record the information you reviewed, the choice or request you made, and any response or deadline still pending. Opening the cookie panel or sending a request does not confirm that every privacy setting or request is complete.
