Store combines encryption, distributed storage and redundancy to protect files. Encryption protects the contents; redundancy provides extra stored data that can help reconstruct missing pieces. Access also depends on your account, devices and any encryption passphrase you enabled.
Understand distribution and repair
Store divides file data into pieces and stores encrypted fragments across its storage network. Erasure coding adds data that allows a piece to be reconstructed when enough valid fragments remain available.
Hivenet uses repair processes to restore redundancy after some storage failures. Repair still depends on having enough valid data. The amount of extra stored data can vary, so distribution and redundancy do not promise uninterrupted access or recovery from every failure.
A file shown on several devices through the same Store account does not establish several independent backups. Keep a separate usable copy of files you cannot afford to lose.
If your files have a specific storage-location, retention or availability requirement, check the service terms or agreement. Ask Hivenet Support about an unanswered requirement before relying on the setup.
Check protection for one important file
Keep the original and any device where the file still opens. Do not sign out, clear app data, reset a passphrase or change the account to test file protection.
Use the encryption and access guide to identify your sign-in method and check whether your Store account has a separate encryption passphrase. Keep access information private.
Identify a separate saved copy. Use the backup test to retrieve and open it without replacing the working original.
Use the file-integrity check to compare the saved contents with the version you expected.
Record the copy location, check result and any remaining access, content or backup problem. Choose the next action before relying on that copy.
If a file becomes unavailable
If the file is missing, will not download or will not open, note whether one file or several are affected and preserve every usable copy. Record the problem for Support.
If Store asks for a passphrase you cannot find, use the lost-passphrase guide. Storage redundancy does not recover a lost passphrase.
Contact Hivenet Support with the device, app or browser, time and exact error, without credentials or private file contents. Do not assume that waiting for a background repair will resolve the problem.
Any specific availability or support commitment comes from the Terms of Service or your applicable agreement. Your backup precautions do not reduce Hivenet's obligations under law or contract.
