Can I delete a Send transfer or resend its files?

Understand the current desktop removal limit, forward a working link or create a new transfer without canceling the original.

Written by Thanasis Karavasilis

The current desktop Send flow does not include a control to delete a completed transfer before it expires. Use the expiry shown for the transfer, and treat the link as active until it expires or Support confirms that access has ended. Creating another transfer does not cancel the original link.

If you need access stopped before expiry

  1. Stop sharing the transfer link and any transfer password.

  2. Contact Hivenet Support to explain the issue and check the options for that transfer. Include when you created it and the email address you used.

  3. Keep any reply or confirmation so you know what action was taken. A support request by itself does not disable the link.

Do not send your transfer password, account password, encryption passphrase or private file contents. If Support asks for the transfer link, provide it only in the private Support conversation.

Forward the same files

You can forward the same working link to another intended recipient. Send any transfer password separately. Forwarding the link does not restart its availability period.

Copy the complete link from the completed transfer or the message where you saved it. Tell the recipient which file version it contains and when it expires. Ask them to download and open the expected files before that deadline.

Send different files or choose a password

Use Send in your browser to create a new transfer. On its completed-transfer screen, select Start new transfer, or open Send again. Choose the files, add a password if needed, and wait for completion before sharing the new link.

Follow How can I transfer a file? for the full steps. Use Copy link when the new transfer is ready. Changes to your original files do not update a completed transfer.

The new transfer has its own link and expiry. Tell recipients which link to use; the original link can remain available until its own expiry.

What does not remove access

  • Deleting an email or chat message containing a link does not disable that Send link.

  • Removing the original file from your device does not revoke the transfer.

  • Expiry or removal of a transfer does not erase copies that recipients already downloaded.

If the link has expired

Use a saved original, backup or other existing copy to create a new transfer. Read Send expiry and finding an existing copy if you no longer have the files.
