Warning: Data loss risk
The cleanup/uninstall script permanently deletes local Hivenet files, including any files that haven’t finished uploading to the cloud. Before you run it:
Open Hivenet and confirm all files show as Synced (not Local-only).
Back up any important local files to another location.
If you’re unsure about sync status, contact support before proceeding: [email protected]
Step 1 — Verify everything is synced
Open the Hivenet app.
Check that your folders and files show Synced.
If you see Local-only, keep Hivenet open until syncing completes.
Manually copy anything urgent to an external drive or another safe location.
Tip: Large photo or video libraries may take a while. Let Hivenet finish before moving on.
Step 2 — Sign out and fully quit Hivenet
In Hivenet, open Settings › Account and select Sign out.
Right-click the Hivenet icon in the system tray and choose Quit.
In Task Manager, make sure no Hivenet processes are running.
Step 3 — Uninstall from Windows
Go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps (or Apps & features).
Find Hivenet, choose Uninstall, and follow the prompts.
Restart Windows.
Step 4 — (Optional) Run the cleanup script
If you want to remove leftover drivers, cache, or configuration files, use our cleanup script.
Critical reminder: Running the script will delete any remaining local Hivenet files. Make sure Step 1 is complete.
Download the cleanup script (Windows) from this article.
Right-click the file and select Run as administrator.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Restart Windows one more time.
Step 5 — Remove leftover folders (only if needed)
If you chose not to run the script, you can manually delete remnants:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Hivenet\
%APPDATA%\Hivenet\
%PROGRAMDATA%\Hivenet\
Any old Hivenet temp folders in
%TEMP%
Note: Only remove folders you’re sure belong to Hivenet. When in doubt, ask us.
Reinstalling Hivenet
If you’re reinstalling to fix an issue, download the latest Windows installer from hivenet.com/download and sign back in. Your cloud files remain available after uninstalling.
Troubleshooting
“Some files didn’t upload”: Reinstall Hivenet, let it finish syncing, then repeat the steps above.
Script blocked by antivirus: Temporarily allow the script, run it as admin, then re-enable protection.
Still see Hivenet drivers/services: Run the cleanup script again as administrator and reboot.
