Show hidden files and folders in Store on the web

Show files and folders whose names begin with a dot, using Settings or a keyboard shortcut.

Written by Thanasis Karavasilis

Store on the web hides files and folders whose names begin with a dot (.) by default. For example, a file named .notes.txt or a folder named .project may be in Store without appearing in the file list.

Show hidden files and folders

  1. Open the Hivenet web app using the account that holds the files.

  2. Open Settings and select General.

  3. Under File visibility, turn on Show hidden files and folders.

  4. Return to Store and open the folder you want to check. Hidden files and folders appear in the list.

Your choice is saved to your account. To hide these items again, turn the setting off.

Use a keyboard shortcut

While viewing files in Store on the web, press:

  • Mac: Command + Shift + period (.).

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + period (.).

Press the shortcut again to hide the items.

What hiding changes

Hiding an item changes whether it appears in the file list. Hidden items still sync, use storage, and are included when you download or share a folder.

Hiding does not restrict access. Check a folder’s hidden contents before sharing it.

If the file is still missing

Follow Find a file missing on another device to check the account, upload progress, and whether the file was moved or deleted. Keep any original or working copy while you investigate.
