Use Windows settings to remove the current Hivenet desktop app. Save usable copies of the files you need before you start.
Protect your files and access
Keep Hivenet open while any uploads finish.
Copy the files you need to a separate folder or drive outside Hivenet. Open the saved copies and check that they contain the expected content.
If a file is available only in Store, download and open a separate copy before removing the app. A filename or preview alone does not confirm that you have the whole file.
If a file is missing or you cannot save or open it, stop and get help with file access. Do not uninstall Hivenet, sign out or delete files from Store to try to fix the problem. Keep any device where the files still open signed in.
If your account uses an encryption passphrase, make sure you can access its saved record outside Store. An account password reset will not recover a forgotten passphrase. If it is missing, follow the lost-passphrase guide before removing the app.
If a legacy app is your only way to access files, contact Hivenet Support before removing or replacing it. Legacy apps are no longer supported.
Uninstall Hivenet
Right-click the Hivenet icon in the Windows notification area and choose the option to quit the app. Follow any confirmation shown before continuing.
Open Windows Settings, then Apps and Installed apps.
Find Hivenet, open its menu and select Uninstall.
Follow the Windows prompts. Restart the computer if the uninstaller asks you to.
If Windows uses a different settings layout, find Hivenet in the Start menu, right-click it and select Uninstall.
Check the result
Confirm that Hivenet is no longer listed among installed apps. Keep the separate file copies you saved before uninstalling.
If removal fails or a Hivenet location remains in File Explorer, contact Hivenet Support. Include your Windows version, Hivenet app version if available, and the exact error. Do not run an old cleanup script or manually delete Hivenet data folders. Support can check the steps that apply to your installation.
Do not send passwords, encryption passphrases, verification codes or private file contents.
Your account, subscription and next installation
Removing the app is separate from deleting your Hivenet account. It does not cancel a paid subscription. To stop recurring charges, contact Hivenet Support for the cancellation route that applies to your plan.
If you want to install Hivenet again, check the official downloads page. If the Windows download is unavailable or its link does not work, contact Support before using an older installer.
