Photo Backup uploads photos and videos from your phone to Store. It needs access to your photo library, an internet connection and enough space in your Store account.
Turn on Photo Backup
Open Hivenet on your phone and select Photo Backup.
Choose whether to back up photos, videos or both, and whether to Use mobile data.
Use the on-screen control to turn on Photo Backup.
Allow access to your full photo library when your phone asks.
Wait while Hivenet scans the library, then check the photos and videos included in the backup.
If you allow access to selected photos only, Hivenet may show Enable full photo access. Select Allow access to review the permission. Choosing Not now leaves setup incomplete.
Check that the backup finishes
Status | What to check |
Backing up | Uploads are in progress. Check the uploaded count and progress bar. |
Paused | Uploads are paused. Select the play button in the progress banner to resume. |
All backed up | Hivenet reports that the current backup is complete. Check that it includes the photos and videos you expected. |
Use the pause button in the progress banner when you need to pause uploads. Keep Hivenet open during the first backup if progress stops while the app is in the background.
Seeing a thumbnail or opening an original already on your phone does not show that the file has finished uploading. Check the backup status before relying on the stored copy.
Download a backed-up item
In Photo Backup, open Timeline and find the photo or video.
Touch and hold the item to open its actions.
On iPhone or iPad, select Download. On Android, select Make available offline.
Wait for the download to finish, then open the downloaded photo or play the video.
If a download fails, use Retry for that item or Retry all for the failed downloads shown. A preview alone does not confirm that the download succeeded.
Keep a copy outside Hivenet
Open the item's actions and choose Share on iPhone or iPad, or Send a copy on Android.
If the phone offers a save option, choose a location outside Hivenet. The available options depend on your phone and installed apps.
Open the saved copy from that location. Check the photo or play the video before relying on it.
If you cannot save and open a separate copy, keep the original and contact Hivenet Support. A file available only inside Hivenet is not a separate copy.
If backup stops or an item is missing
Check that Hivenet still has access to the photos and videos you want to back up.
Check the internet connection and whether Use mobile data matches the connection you are using.
Check the available space in Store and on your phone.
On Android, check whether the phone is restricting Hivenet's background activity.
If the problem continues, contact Hivenet Support with the app version, backup status and whether one item or several are affected. Say whether the original still opens and whether you could save a copy outside Hivenet. Do not send private photos or videos.
Keep your originals until you have checked usable copies. Do not delete photos, uninstall Hivenet or switch accounts to test whether a backup worked.
