What is security?

It's not just about firewalls and passwords—it’s about feeling safe.

Security, at its core, is about protection.

In the real world, that might mean:

  • Locking your front door

  • Installing a burglar alarm

  • Putting valuables in a safe

You’re keeping danger out—and your peace of mind in.

In the digital world, it works the same way, just with different tools:

  • Firewalls keep malicious traffic out

  • Antivirus software scans for harmful files

  • Passwords and encryption protect access to your devices and data

At Hivenet, security is about making sure no one can access your data unless they’re supposed to. It’s how we prevent unauthorized access, breaches, or data loss across the network.

But security is only part of the story. Up next: privacy—and how it’s different.
