Why three copies?
Because one can fail. And two? Still risky. But three? That’s when you start sleeping better.
Think of it like a sandwich:
Original: the file you’re actively using
Backup #1: a local copy—like an external hard drive or NAS
Backup #2: an offsite or cloud copy—like Hivenet
If something happens to your original, you’ve still got a local backup. If something happens to both your original and local copy (flood, theft, fire, etc.), your offsite backup is your lifeline.
Real-world example:
Let’s say you’re a designer:
Your laptop holds your active files
You back them up weekly to an external SSD
Hivenet stores a copy in the cloud
If your laptop dies, you're covered. If your home gets hit by a power surge, you’re still covered. That's the power of three.
