Archiving isn’t just another word for backup. It’s a specific strategy: you store files that you rarely need, but absolutely can’t afford to lose.
Think tax records, old client projects, or legacy media. Stuff you might need once in a blue moon—or only if something goes wrong.

1. Define what counts as “archive-worthy”
Let’s say you’ve got files from 2019 to 2025. You might:
Keep 2025 files on your main storage (they’re still in use)

Make 2024 files available offline, and the older ones cloud-only

2. Decide how many versions to keep

The last 3 versions of key files?
A full version history of your most important stuff?
