Maybe you’re new to cloud storage altogether. Or maybe you’re switching from Google Drive, Dropbox, or something else. Either way, using Hivenet as your main storage space is totally doable—just take a few steps to make sure things run smoothly from the start.

This applies whether you're moving everything to Hivenet or just choosing to store a specific type of file (like photos or client work) here.

1. Choose a folder structure that works for you

The right folder setup is personal. You might organize files by:

  • Year / quarter / month

  • Type (work, personal, hobbies)

  • Project name or client

Don’t overthink it—start with a structure that feels natural to you. You can always adjust later.

2. Decide what stays local vs. what’s cloud-only

With larger files, this choice matters.

You can:

  • Keep frequently used files local

  • Move everything else to online-only

  • Or mix and match depending on access patterns

Example: keep active work projects on your device, and store your older archives online-only.

3. Don’t move everything at once

We get it—you want to get started. But uploading 500 GB in one go might slow you down.

Instead:

  • Start with a single folder or year of files

  • Make sure the experience feels right

  • Scale up from there

Your internet (and your peace of mind) will thank you.

4. Install Hivenet everywhere you need it

Make sure the app is on your phone, tablet, and other devices you use regularly. That way, your files are always within reach—whether you’re working or just remembering that one perfect vacation photo.
