Why is my hiveDisk upload stuck on one file and how can I fix it?

If your hiveDisk upload is stuck, you can use the hiveDisk Activity tab to pause and resume uploads during large file uploads.

Prerequisites:

  • A Hive user account. If you do not have one, sign up at hivenet.com.

  • The hiveDisk application is installed and running on your Windows or Mac computer.

  • Ensure your computer is connected to the internet.

📘 Steps to resolve upload stagnation:

  1. Identify the upload status:

    • Look for the hiveDisk icon with a small arrow in your taskbar, indicating an ongoing upload.

  2. Access activity monitor:

    • Click on the hiveDisk icon. Once opened, click on the Activity tab.

  3. Monitor upload progress:

    • In the Activity Monitor, you can see the file currently being uploaded, the queue of upcoming files, and those already uploaded.

  4. Check for stagnation:

    • If the upload progress bar does not move for a minute or more, it may indicate suboptimal internet conditions on your end or your peers on hiveNet.

  5. Pause and resume uploads:

    • Click on the three dots menu in the bottom right corner and select “Pause.” This will pause all ongoing uploads.

    • To resume, click again on the three dots menu and select “Resume.” Your uploads will restart from where they left off.

Additional tips:

  • Ensure your internet connection is stable during large file uploads.

  • If problems persist, try uploading smaller batches of files.
