📘 Instructions

Setting up hiveDisk:

  1. Launch hiveDisk: After installing hiveDisk, open the application. You will see ‘hiveDisk’ in your Finder under “Locations”.

  2. Using hiveDisk: It functions like any regular file or folder in macOS. The key difference? Anything you add to hiveDisk is securely uploaded to hiveNet, Hive’s distributed cloud, and synced across your devices.

  3. Syncing files: Keep hiveDisk running in the background for optimal syncing. It ensures your files are always up-to-date across all connected devices.

Known limitations:

  • Offline and online file toggling: We do not currently support toggling files between offline and online-only modes. However, this feature is on our roadmap and will be available soon.

  • Large folders loading time: Folders containing thousands of files might take several minutes to load. We’re actively working on enhancing this to be near-instant.

  • Trash functionality: Sometimes, moving many files or folders to the trash may work differently than expected. We are diligently improving this feature. For now, we're sorry for any trouble.

  • Manual refresh required: Files or folders added or altered from another device will not automatically refresh. To update, right-click on the file or folder and select “Refresh Folder” beside the hiveDisk icon.
