If you've forgotten your passphrase for hiveDisk, please remember it's vital for encrypting your data to maintain privacy and security. Unfortunately, if you misplace the passphrase, we can't retrieve or reset it, and direct access to your data isn't possible through our system.

Steps to Follow

Understand the implications:

Your passphrase is crucial for encrypting data on hiveNet and hiveDisk apps (Mac, Windows, Android, iOS). Forgetting it means no access to encrypted data, not even by our support team.

Check for any record of your passphrase:

Don't forget to double-check any secure spots where you might have saved the passphrase, such as password managers or secure notes!

Copy your data:

If you have a mobile or desktop client logged in and can still access your files, it'd be great to copy any important data to another secure location. This step is crucial as you'll lose access to your data once your account is deleted.

Logging out of all hiveDisk apps:

Before you go ahead with deleting your account, make sure to log out of all hiveDisk clients (both mobile and desktop). This way, you can start fresh with a new account.

Delete your account:

If you're unable to find your passphrase, you may consider deleting your account to set up a new one. Please note that this action will lead to permanent data loss, so if possible, remember to back up any important files beforehand.

Account deletion process:

  1. Login to your hiveNet Account Page

  2. Scroll to the account deletion option at the bottom.

  3. Carefully follow the instructions to delete your account.

Create a new account:

  1. After you delete your old account, sign up for a new one through our website or any of the apps.

  2. Remember to choose a secure passphrase and save it in a password manager for future reference!

Losing access to your data because of a forgotten passphrase can be tough. Our focus is on upholding top-notch security and privacy standards, including careful policies on passphrase recovery.

If you require help with data backup or account deletion, feel free to contact our support team for assistance.
